Some suggestions by mischief makers that Gordon Browns budget
performance was a PR exercise more concerned with his aspiration to
another office are uncalled for. I like Gordon, am convinced that all
of us (except Tory voting Chelsea Tractor owners) have just had a big
tax break thanks to him, and it is wonderful that he has simplified
the tax system (it's very unfair to suggest he complicated it in the
first place by introducing the 10% tax band). He would be wasted as
the next prime minister given he has the very qualities needed to be
the next Secretary of State for the the DWP aka CSA. Under his
prudent management we can look forward to an end to the trickery and
deception of this Government Department which would be transforemed to
a model of unparalleled competence, efficiency and of course
stability. Please show your support for Gordon.

why support gordon?

Old system: Personal Allowance £5225
£5225-£7455: tax rate is 10%
£7445-£39825: tax rate is 22%
above £39825: tax rate is 40%

New system: Personal Allowance £5225
£5335-£39825: tax rate is 20%
above £39825: tax rate is 40%

The person losing most is someone earning £7455. Under the old system,
they'd pay (7455-5225) * 10% = £223; under the new (7455-5225) * 20% =
£446. Anyone earning between £5225 and £18605 will be worse off; those
earning more will be better off (at exactly £18605, you pay £2676
under both systems).

Someone on a 40 hour week at minimum wage gets £11481.60 a year.
They'll pay £142 a year extra in tax

also raising the school leaving age to 18 is a sure fire way to get
more money out of NRP'S...support gordon MY ARSE!
