Re: House Husband and CSA

I am on the CS2.. would being on CS2 be different?

Also I have no arrears thank goodness.

So i take it my wifes wages will not take into effect.. also as she is
the bread winner she will be the one getting the tax credits??

That won't of course prevent them chasing up any arrears owed or discovered

thats assuming you are on CS2. CS1 would provide a nil assessments
as you have no earnings (CTC not taken into account in exempt income
section) and as you have a child living with you - the minimum
contribution would be exempt too. so your liability would be nil.

Hi Folks

I am currently paying for my first child through the CSA

I am now expecting my second child with my new wife and as my wife
is more qualified career wise we decided that I should become house
husband as my wife can earn more than I do.

My income will drop to Zero (although i still intend to pay NI
voluntary)

Why? If the Child Benefit is in your name won't you receive credits?
Single male parents and mothers do.

I will live from my wifes wages.

Will this mean I will pay then pay Zero to the CSA?

IIRC if you genuinely have no income then you don't have to (can't)
pay. If otherwise your income is less that a certain amount (think
£100) then there's a minimum amout to pay of something like £5.50
pw. However if you have your assessed children more than 1 night in
7 then this is reduced to zero.
