I am on the new assessment currently, so essentially I will have at least
three months at the current rate in arrears, and however long it takes them
to reassess what my earnings are after that period once accounts are
available...
Sounds like a lot of arrears could build up in that time, not helpful to me
or my ex,
thanks for the advice guys.

I am considering becoming self employed, but what happens to my CSA
payments? How do I get them realistically assessed as my earnings

accrue at my current rate of payment?
any help appreciated
Thanks

CSA will base new assessment on your first 3 months accounts information.
Usually has no bearing whatsoever on end of year figures.
In the meantime they can do a catagory C interim assessment (if on old
scheme) which is set at £30 a week. Can, don't always do though - 3 months
isn't a long time to wait for account information.
Old assessment is still accruing arrears until such time as an interim
assessment or new assessment made however. Then backdated as necessary or
allowed.
