The only way to get the CSA out of the loop is for you to get a job and come off income support. As long as you work sixteen hours or more, you can still claim tax credits and come to a private arrangement with your ex for whatever you both consider a reasonable amount. You can also claim for up to 75% of childcare costs. Assuming that your child is at nursery or school, then you don't really have an excuse not to be working.
