Re: No CSA variation for 800 mile round trip

Fletch

You are on my wavelength, mate.

I spent most of my years as a soldier defending Queen & Country. I just
missed the Falklands cos my birthday was too late...I served in the first
Gulf War, been to Boz, Sierra Leone and served a total of 4 years in
Northern Ireland.
These tossers that I was prepared to give my life for (no cheesey comments
please cos its true...I knew exactly what I was signing up for) have no
notion of what is happening outside in the REAL WORLD and it is down to
people like me that they can sleep safe in their beds at night.

The only politician that I had any admiration for was Paddy Ashdown...not
due to any political persuasion but due to the fact that at the time, he was
the only politician standing at the cenotaph on rememberance Sunday who had
actually seen active service.

Kinda feel ashamed that I gave 15 years of my life to these ungrateful
bastards..

Anyway, whatever the Law says...still doesn't make it right!

People go on at me about my refusal to vote quoting the old adage that their
grandad died so I could vote. It often pains me to point out the fact that I
have prolly seen more active service than their Grandad and the truth of the
matter is that their Grandad didn't die so I could vote...He died because
democracy gives me the right to choose whether I want to vote or not. And by
choosing not to, I am upholding my right to choose in a democratic society.
Unfortunately, democracy didn't give their Grandad a choice whether he
wanted to die for his country or not...thats what the difference is.

Anyway apologies for the slightly OT comments...just passing the time till I
can afford to go see my son again
