Difference between Xbox Live sub cards

I've seen shops selling the standard xbox live 12 month sub card and
the special Halo 3 one (which I believe is 12+1)

However the Halo 3 one is about 70% the price of the standard card

Is there a difference or a limitation (expiry date?) on the Halo 3
one?
