fifa 08 (xbox36) leauge options

In older versions of fifa, my mate and i would pick a team each and add
say another 10 teams and create a custom leauge.It was possible that if
my team was then playing that my mate could play against me with the
opposing team (even though it was not initially picked as a human
team).Fifa 2007 did not allow this and you would end up playing the cpu
while your mate sat and watched.This rather ruined the game for me.Has
fifa 08 changed this ,or is it still the case that you have to play
teh cpu when setting a up a 2 person leauge with multiple teams?
