Thanks for the responses guys. I didn't move the console while it was on
but I did move it while off.

BTW there is no sticker on the disc tray of my machine to give any type of
warning but I will concede that it is mentioned in the manual. Though I
have to ask how many of you read the manual cover to cover before fired up
your xbox? If it is this easy to cause irreperable damage to game media the
warning should be unmissable and made very clear ie. sticker inside the tray
as mentioned. McDonalds have to give a warning about their coffee being hot
and that's a no brainer!!!

I'm going to take this up with MS but I'm pretty sure I'm not going to get
anywhere.

Also thanks for the Wilkinsons link - it's not the collectors edition but
at that price I don't care.
