Bioshock - noob - Lost Plasmid?

Only started playing this v.recently.

Received the Ignite plasmid, then later on had to swap one for the
telekenesis one.
Have completed the medical pavilion level and when I next got to a
gatherer's garden and/or gene bank I couldn't swap back in my ignite one.
Where did it go?
