@mid.individual.net:
Anyone got any horror stories about the official Xbox adapter? I'd
run a cable but I doubt my landlord (or in fact the missus) would
appreciate me drilling a hole through the lounge wall.
I'd go with Homeplug myself...
That did cross my mind but we only have 2 power sockets near the TV area
with a 4-gang in one (all used up) and the Xbox PSU in the other. I
spose I could buy an 8-gang..
..same deal in the room where the net comes in. I think I have 3 4-gangs
and a cable wheel thingy with 2 plugs in all coming out of 2 power
sockets.
Time to rethink the whole electricity / danger / fire / death situation..
Also isn't it cheaper to buy the adapter rather than 2 x homeplugs?
You could try a logitech play link. They're pretty cheap off eBay
The only downside is that the only version available comes with 110V
AC adapters.
The good news is that you can replace them with standard 6V AC
adapters.
The speed isn't the best (1.5Mbps) but thats fast enough for general
use but not really for downloading.
The beauty of it is its plug and plug and works with anything with an
ethernet port.
