Argos have the HD-DVD for £119 and a tenner's free gift voucher offer
ending today if you spend over £100 (if you buy £100 gift vouchers,
then use them straight away the HDDVD is only £109)

Question is - is it worth it just now. Not much out on HD-DVD, even
less in the UK. And I've noticed that some of the discs on play-asia
are now region marked (older ones aren't). Then there's the big Q of
will Blu-ray win the war?

I need a remote for DVD watching though, and that's going to cost me
at least £15, so given there's still one in the HDDVD kit it means the
drive is actually even cheaper.

I dont mind the noise, i just have a problem with microsoft making consoles
that are just simply fucking unreliable..my 3rd xbox 360 has gone tits up
and they want me to pay £85 to get it fixed.

I'll wait until HD/Blu-ray dvd players are capable of being region free...i
have zero confidence that the Uk will be offer anywhere near as good a
selection of HD dvds as other countries and pretty certain we would pay a
LOT more for the privelage of the shoddy choices that are available to us.
