and went down to Game to ask after it there, just to see if it's even in the

wireless dongle that's compatible with the controller - but since the wired
controller (or my wireless with the charging cable) is a USB device, it is
supposed to work with Windows.
So I plugged it in and the Add New Hardware wizard kicked in - but of course
there were no controller drivers to be found on my machine. Or for that
matter, on Microsoft's site. Any suggestions as to where the heck the
driver for the Xbox 360 controller is? Thanks.
data connection - it only has the 0V and +5V pins wired, not the Data.
The Add New Hardware wizard pops up because the motherboard senses a
connection on the USB port and tells Windows. It fails because there's
no way to communicate with the controller with that lead.
