I did research the leads & both Game & Currys had none of the official ones
in stock.

I wanted to buy a can of Coke, but Tesco and Morrisons had none of in stock. I
could have bought own brand cola, but it's foul so I didn't. So I went
somewhere else. And how is this Microsoft's fault anyway?

My points were:

All wrong.

1) Why should we have to buy a VGA lead in the first place? It's a bit like
buying a car without the doors, given that Microsoft make stuff for PCs.

The 360 is designed to connect to a TV. If you want to connect your 360 to a
monitor, you're doing something that isn't its primary function, so of course
you're going to have to buy an extra (a VGA cable). And as for the argument
"Microsoft make stuff for PCs", so? Does Windows come with a modem? After
all, "Microsoft make stuff for the Internet".

2) If you're going to connect the Xbox to a monitor, it would be ideal to
connect it to the older CRT monitor that you've got lying around after
buying a modern TFT one. Many will display the high res well, though most
have a hard-wired VGA lead and no socket. Microsoft proclaim their plug &
play *** but the reality here is more like plug & pay.

There is no point here. What exactly are you trying to say? You buy a 360,
you plug it in, you play on it. The end.

Some people on here say that I'm a cheap arse by using inexpensive speakers.
Look, this Xbox was for my kids not for the Royal bleeding Family.

So make do with a cheap TV and stop pissing about with buying the wrong
cables?

With all
the accessories & games it has already cost more than £400. I ain't willing
to pay another £50 for speakers & then another £150 for a widescreen
monitor. The £600 would have bought our family a slap-up week in Morecambe.

Why didn't you consider all this before you bought anything? What if you'd
bought a Mondeo, but hadn't thought about the cost of petrol, tax, insurance
or the widening of your driveway to fit it in? Is that Ford's fault? (Clue:
No.)

You'll be saddened to know that the final part of the Xbox Saga is now on
YouTube - see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nie4gWpkNoc

"Saga" eh? You went for fame and ended up with shame. You poor, sad, lonely
little man. I feel sorry for your kids. "Daddy, why are you incapable of
buying a 360 properly?"
