Lo guy
been trying to get the pc and 360 talkin for a few days now and still
no joy:
pc - win xp pro, sp2, media player 10 wireless connection to router
360 - ethernet connetction to router
router - bt voyager 2091 - internet and xbox live work great
media connector installed on pc and identified 360 (inc. MAC addy and
Serial no. etc so it sees it!)
360 - go to Media and Music - does not find pc - test shows
Network Adapter - Wired
Wireless Adapter - (not run as no wireless adapter on 360)
IP Address - Confirmed
Pc Selected - Failed
Turned off firewall (Zone Alarm) still no joy.
I don't user ZA but seem to remember that turning it off still causes
problems but I'm not 100% about that.
Have had a look at router and reckon I may need to add some port
forwarding. I have the list of ports required but have not found an
article on how to set them up on the router.
I installed Media Connect last night and didn't have to set up Port
Forwarding on it. I had the 360 on at the time of installation and have had
no problems connecting and sharing folders.
Have you checked Windows Firewall if you're using it
.
