50hz or 60hz

Can anyone confirm yet whether the xbox 360 can be set to output 720p/60
(i.e. 60 hz hi def) in the UK?
My TV is hi def but only works at 720p @ 60hz!! 1080i works at 50hz but is
allegedly inferior due to the interlacing i.e.motion isnt as smooth
