Does the X2 have a connection that interferes with the reset/eject
button functionality like the X3 does ?

If so, it might be worth checking that rhe connection hasn't got an iffy
solder connection that has come loose or is dry jointed.

I'm not sure, but I tried disabling the chip with a jumper and that did *** all. I can do in-game resets on things which I think is a chip feature so I'll check the soldering at some point.

Given these comments and your other recent coments in this thread, it is almost certainly an iffy connection. Suggest you do a search and if necessary, make a post on the XBox-scene or Xecuter forums (possibly both) to see if this problem has been encountered before. I would say that in all likelihood it has, and that someone will be able to point you specifically towards which connection it is that is causing this.

While you are doing that, does the X2 have a power/eject daughterboard supplied with it, that sits between the chip and the power/eject switches, the same as the X3 does ? If so, then that would be my first port of call to see if there are any obvious signs of shorting on it or dull coloured solder that might indicate a potential dry joint.
