This is a formal Request For Discussion (RFD) for the following changes
in the uk.* Usenet hierarchy:

rename unmoderated newsgroup uk.games.video.xbox
as uk.games.video.soggy-biscuit

Newsgroup line:

This is not a Call for Votes (CFV); you cannot vote at this time.
Further procedural details are given below.

RATIONALE: uk.games.video.soggy-biscuit

The uk.games.video.* hierarchy, as it is could be considered cliquey.
However, that "cliqueness" pales in insignificance when compared to
the current circle jerk (cj) that is ugvx.

I propose replacing ugvx with uk.games.video.soggy-biscuit. I see a
future where regulars set up a paypal account to pay for the McVities.
At the end of the month, the post count of all users will be tallied
up, and the top poster will be mailed the biscuits. Upon receipt, they
would have to chow down on cam for their peers to enjoy.

CHARTER: uk.games.video.soggy-biscuit

This group is for the loose discussion of xbox games, and usenet circle
jerks.

Posters are advised that a separate group,
oh.god.I.touched.it.im.sorry.but.it.felt.right, is
more suited to discussion of 'cj's.'

Links or pointers to UK focused websites relating to Xboxen consoles
Should be posted when ever anyone damn well feels like it.
Duplication of copyrighted material from websites or other sources is
Encouraged, and should be applauded. It adds a great deal of value to
the group.
source material, which should be for discussion purposes only, should
be plagiarised when ever possible.

Reviews, hints, tips and cheats are welcome, however spoilers should be
*WRITTEN IN BOLD CAPS*. Long reviews
or solutions (100 lines or more) should be copied and pasted within the
same post at least five times. That way, if the reader misses a
section, they can just read on, and they have 5 'lives' to glean
the info they need.

Discussions about piracy, 'warez', 'backups' should be referred to as
homebrew. In the case of downloading from the internet, posters should
refer to illegal game downloads as 'linux Isos' Discussion of
copying or emulating games which are commercially available is
forbidden unless posters use a ;-) (smiley winking emote) Discussions
about the morality
and legality of such actions tend to become quickly inflammatory, and
should be entered into at all costs. Remember, if any regular gets to
appear on Trisha, they'll *get* extra biscuits.

Cross-Posting

Cross-posting should be left to highlander, or whatever fuckin' name
he is going by this week.

Advertising

Advertising (which includes wanted adverts and game trade lists) is
forbidden, with these exceptions:
* Adverts about chipping Xboxen, and the sale of 'backup' games, is
allowed.

Binaries & Formatting

Encoded binaries (e.g. pictures, compressed files, etc.) should be
posted here, as long as they are linux iso's ;-)

Posts must be in html.
