Your monitor will most likely have VGA socket on it, just plug it into the
back of that and hook the sound into your speakers.
The USB ports are for the controllers, digital cameras, music players etc so
the Xbox 360 can get at content from them. It can also stream content like
music and photos from a Windows XP PC using Windows Media Connect over the
network and act as a Media Center Extender if you have XP Media Center
Edition, so you can record and watch TV with the Xbox.
