Microsoft didn't ban anyone from using the US store. There was
rumour they were going to block UK ip addresses from accessing the
store, but as far as I know they have yet to do this.
Go ahead, download the Ratchet demo, nothing will happen. In fact
you can start the download, log out of your US account and back into
the UK account and the download will continue in the background.

Cheers Beck, I think I just bought into a little Internet paranoia, I suppose if they are daft enough to allow this loophole they can;t be that arsed. What about purchases, can I use my UK Credit Card ?

Not sure about using a card on the US network, not tried it. It may even not allow the same card on two accounts.
