PS3 fan noise...

I returned my original PS3 today and got a replacement due to the fact
that the fans would come on after about a minute and ramp up to a
higher speed after about 5 minutes of playing a game or BD disc.
Problem was the fans never slowed down again even when the system was
left idle. Even if left for a few hours doing nothing but displaying
the menu. The Sony support line told me to take it back for a
replacement after about 30 seconds on talking to them. The Curry's help
line did the same after about the same length of time. I suspect they
have had similar calls before mine. The fan noise was an issue when
watching BD movies.

I'm not sure the replacement is much of an improvement. I think the
fans are not as loud, but I've still to test to see if they go quiet
when the system is idling after ramping them up in a game.

Anyone else have fan issues with their PS3?
