Apparently so. Don't notice on my TV, but a lot of people have been saying the same. Seems the PS3 stops outputting a signal for a second, or something.

As an aside what is the point of having a master account and a user account?

I setup my user account first as I did not see the master account option. I used the same name as 360 gamertag but now I cannot use that name as master account for friends list.

I believe the master account is for a main user, who can set parental controls and add money to the wallet for the store and stuff. A sub account is for other users. I set my wife up with a sub account of my account, so she can buy stuff using funds I've put into the wallet.
