Is a PS3 worth it with an SD display?

I so very nearly bought one on Friday... I was there, with my plastic in my
hand. But one thing kept playing on my mind as I watched the demo displays
on the HD flat screens in all the shops - does a PS3 actually look any good
on a normal SD TV?

Obviously you're not getting the full benefit of the system, and there's
absolutely no point using it for blu-ray either. But has anyone bought a
PS3 and used it on a standard-def TV, and is it worth me getting one or not?
