I have bought several second hand discs and they are scratched.
I have seen these scratch removers. Are they any good?
Depends on the type of scratch really. If it's on the face of the disc (the label side) forget it. If it's on the bottom and the disc isn't working, then it's worth a shot. But, don't use one just for the sake of it, if the disc works leave it alone.
Anyone have one?
Yes.
What are the results like ?
Varied, but again, it depends on the type of scratch. How long or deep it is, depth is the crucial factor really. They essentially scrape off a layer from the disc to try and smooth it out. If the scratch is deep, chances are it won't be able to smooth down enough of the disc to make a difference.
There is the other option whereby you rub in a solution to the disc to try and fill the scratch rather than smooth the rest of the disc down. Never had any experience with this method so can't comment on it.
Which is the best one to get ?
I've used the Skip Doctor but don't know if it's better than any of the others. But all these devices do the same thing at the end of the day.
