Ok, quick question. Been thinking of getting a HDadvance, in order to
extend the life of the drive in my trusty old ps2. I've got the sims 2,
which seems to really thrash the drive, so that'll help a bit.
How does one go about installing stuff on the drive with the internal HD
version? I know the USB version requires a PC for installation etc, but
I'm assuming that the internal one somehow allows you to eject the disc
and swap it for installation purposes.
Once installed, do you need to boot off a memory card, or use the
installer disc?
You simply boot up the PS2 with the HD advance disk and follow the
instructions for copying the game to the hard drive.....can't remember
exactly the process, but it'll be simple.
to install a game on the HDD using your PS2, it has to be playable on
that PS2 without modification. You can't, for instance, pop an
american game into a euro PS2 and write it to the hard drive using HD
advance.
to put an import game on it, you have to either get someone with a
chipped PS2 to put it on the HD for you, or you have to plug the drive
into a PC, then there's some software lying around on the net that
will let you write the image to it by placing the PS2 game in your
PC's DVD drive.
