I fear you'll be sleeping for a *long* while. ;)
There are some nice touches, but it's stupidly overpriced. 240 points for
single Atari 2600 games? Seriously? Pah.
My yardstick for the value of this is the megadrive collection. Even
at full price, it was only around 60p per game. It's now about 20p per
game. And these are megadrive games and a couple of arcade games that
are well in advance of those on in the games room.
If they'd launched with a decent set of slightly more modern games (things
like Final Fight, Bubble Bobble, Rainbow Islands) at that price, I *might*
have been tempted to buy one or two, but even then there would really be
nothing much to set it apart from playing them on MAME. Even less so if
you've got a proper cab.
I'd have paid 800 to 1200 MSP for a games room with about 10 or 15
games from a more modern era, and I'd expect to pay between 80MSP and
400MSP for additional games. Most indie games have had way more work
put into them than these arcade games ever did and MS are making the
writers sell them for 80MSP - any more than that for Combat on a 2600
emulator is just insulting.
I think it's just a case of all the people involved over-valuing
nostalgia. Though having said that it'll probably do amazingly well
now.
