Transistor. Cheap little thing 25W practise thing, but useful enough. I've
gigged with it a few times - it's the channel select that's going, I think. It
randomly switches between clean and overdrive whilst I'm playing, which isn't
so useful. I'm lusting after those Line6 Spider IVs, though - mainly because
I can't afford one of the proper lovely British tweedy valve amps that I
/actually/ want.
I use a Line 6 micro spider for my practice amp. In fact, for more than just practice as it makes a perfectly good effects processor to feed into a bigger setup.
The bestest thing about it though, it runs on batteries so I can carry it around and noodle around in the park on a lunchtime with one of my electric ukuleles and have a heap of fun. The batteries last for ages as well, 6 C cells. I like it a lot.
I auditioned the Rowland Cube at the when I settled on the Line 6. The Line 6 has a better clean sound (IMO). I like the acoustic simulator when playing the electric uke. Plus the Rowland wasn't battery powered.
I've also got an old Fat Rat 15W practice thing. Never use that now.
