you'd prefer an octoganal gate that's more prevalent in the east and
modding the stick with an octagonal gate isn't out of the question, in
fact the Mad Catz sticks are designed to be modded easily.  I was going
to try it with my EX2, but that required hole drilling and I couldn't be
arsed.  Hopefully I won't regret the decision tomorrow.


Its the other way around mate :) Square gate with the ball top is the
preferred Japanese style. Octagonal gate with bat top is American.

Personally i prefer the square, as all my joysticks i have use it and
i am too lazy to mod them.
