My stupid fucking *** router (I presume). I have a 360 connected wirelessly to a router a foot away from it (don't ask) which works flawlessly, and a 360 a couple of rooms away, a maximum of 20ft, on the same level. Even with all doors open and a straight path through, 80% of the time it won't connect to the network. When it does it's rare I can play for more than 10 minutes without it disconnecting from Live. It is fucking gay bollocks.

Wait, it's the second 360 that doesn't operate properly? Have you tried swapping the wireless adapters around, just to eliminate that as a failure point? If you put one on the other and get the same type of failure, then you know that both your wireless adapters are working correctly and there's some other environmental factor causing interference.

Without having been in your house, I'm guessing there's some other device in between that's making enough noise to render your second 360 invisible to the router. A cordless phone, or remotely-controlled buttplug or something.

I've swapped the adapters. It seems to be the network, rather than the signal. When it doesn't connect, and I run the tests, it says Connection Failed under the network status within 0.1 seconds of trying to connect. It's not searching for and then trying to connect, it just refuses to. So I keep trying to reconnect, after about 15 times it connects again, works for five minutes, kicks me off, repeat. I gave it a static IP outside of the DHCP range incase it was conflicting and that was booting it off, but that hasn't helped either. There's one cordless phone on the outside of the router and one on the outside of the second 360, so neither are within the line of the router and 360. There's a microwave in a room off the corridor where the signal travels, but it's not even plugged in. I left all the doors open to make sure it had a completely clear line and got nothing. Occasionally it runs really fast and I can play all night without it dropping, but that's very rare, usually I struggle to get more than 15 minutes of connection uninterrupted.
