There are two or three hobbyist projects out there that aim to replicate
all the protocols of a Windows XP Media Center edition PC in Linux so that
a 360 can get video over the link. If I remember correctly, pictures and
music files can be pulled off of any SMB-compliant file share, so there's
really not much to sort out. It's also not really worth it, as the 360
video navigation interface is slow and unfriendly. An original Xbox
running XBMC, or any set-top media player you can get from the TV shop
down the street will do a better job.
