skate (360)
I found it somewhat surprising that I had this to play over the weekend,
having only ordered it (and FIFA) on Thursday afternoon from Play.
Clearly
their delivery times have improved hugely since I last ordered from them.
I'm really glad it did turn up, though, as it is just sublime. I loved
the
demo, and said at the time that if the retail version included nothing
more
but removing the time limit I'd be happy. It does, unsurprisingly, offer
more. A lot more. I'm still feeling my way back into it having not played
the demo for quite a while, and the way the game eases you into the
challenges makes the progression from the basics to more complicated
tricks
and lines utterly painless. I can see this being the one game from my
uncomfortably long 'to-play' list that dominates Christmas.
I also tried it online, which was a smooth but predictably rather
humiliating affair.
IMO, and honestly I'm saying IMO here. It is the best game on the 360.
It is really, really good, isn't it? It does seem to be geared much more
towards street than vert, but given the way the controls work, that probably
makes sense.
It's got that 'one more go' quality, especially when trying to nail a
particular line that you know isn't impossible, just really, really
difficult. It's one of those games that you could find yourself
inadvertently playing until about 5 in the morning (although I've managed to
avoid that, so far).

This is the only tip I'll give you as I don't want to spoil the sheer
enjoyment of learning it yourself for you! This however is the 100%
guaranteed method of performing a 360 flip.
The instructions say start with the stick centred, move the right
stick up-left, then round to right, then diagonal to down-left.
Instead do it this way. Start with the stick pointing straight up,
then move to the up-left position (i.e. slightly move the stick round
to the left) then right, then down-left.
Instead of it hardly ever triggering it will always trigger.
There seems to be some kind of problem with that one and you need it
for a challenge!
