to completion before starting something else, just to stick within a
self-imposed regime.
intros, not having the time to appreciate a game to its full potential.
If anything it's playing/touching a game just to say you have that's the
soulless pursuit - especially if it's just to fulfil a need manufactured
in you by corporate marketing types :)
I'll happily admit to being a sufferer of the 'shiny new thing syndrome'.
Every time I'm out in town, I really struggle not to buy something. I
like getting new games, whether I need them or not. I'd argue that that
need comes not from marketing types, but from an insatiable love of the
games. I used to be like that with music, racking up dozens and dozens of
CDs that got listened to, at best, once. I get the impression that the
majority of ugvm posters have this personality trait, and I don't think
it's something that we should all feel the need to overcome. Clearly
there are practical limits, and family/food/mortgages/substance abuse
must come first, but for goodness sake, let's not start feeling guilty
about buying too many games. It's what we do.
Give that man a coconut.
