That's it.
And I just haven't got the fucking time any more.
Without wanting to sound superior I hit this stage a while back. It's why
I insist on only playing one game at a time (well, two - one at home and
one on the DS strictly on the train).
Keep a priority list. Change the order if you want, but only play the
games one at a time strictly in this order. If a game becomes boring,
cross it off the list (but do not revisit it). Either way, do not start a
new game until you're done with the last.
But, but, but, but, but...
I can't imagine anything less like *fun* than making myself play a game to
completion before starting something else, just to stick within a
self-imposed regime.
I accept that I waste a *huge* amount of both time and money on gaming, and
that I probably play less than half my games to completion, but that is what
a hobby/recreational pursuit is all about, surely? You don't work to set
budgets, and produce project plans of what you'll be playing and when. You
GET EXCITED about games, spend money irrationally, generally make a fool of
yourself by getting over-excited and then disappointed by the latest shiny
thing.
I cannot find it in myself to wish you both luck with your regimes, because
I hope that you both ultimately fail. I don't mean that at all maliciously -
I just think you'll ultimately have a lot more fun living the life of an
impulsive, profligate gaming obsessive.
You know it's true. ;)
Chris.
