Honestly? If someone asked me to choose between a PS3 and a 360, I'd get
a
DS instead. That's a system with ace games as well as loads of
unfulfilled
potential, rather than just one or the other.

I wonder if I'm the only one here without either? Apart from Rach, of
course.

Nope, I don't own either of the "next gen" consoles neither.

Financially, I can't afford either the 360 or PS3, and having played on both
(and the Wii), I'm still failing to see what the excitement is all about.
Even if I was employed, it's unlikely I would be ditching my PS2 any time
soon for something that seems to only offer better graphics on a type of TV
I have no intention of buying. Also, there's no way I'd pay to play against
a bunch of 12-year-olds online when I can do that on my PC for free.

My DS isn't getting a lot of use at the moment (it comes in spurts), and
although the Wii was a really fun machine to play on, it seems that it's
only really fun if you're playing against your mates and have a huge living
room, otherwise the DS is better because I can use it online (for free, of
course!).

I'm with Paul here. I have neither, and don't feel the need to buy either,
er, either.

I could afford to buy a 360 but, when I came to hand over the money, I'd just
get a flashback of all the unplayed games I could get for my current
crop of consoles and how many of them I could buy for the price of a 360.

Stranger's Wrath, for example. Or Psychonauts. Viewtiful Joe 2. Not to mention
the backlog of games I currently own but haven't finished, like Resi 4,
Zelda OOT, Mario 64...

At the moment I can quite feasibly see myself skipping this generation altogether
(Wii aside). High quality games get released too frequently these days
for anyone but the utmost dedicated gamer to keep up.
