Is it Monday already? Jaysus! Anyway...

PLAY:

Halo 3 (360, natch) Haven't finished yet, for two reasons. Firstly, I find about 2-3 hours is my limit at any FPS before I get 'hollowed' and secondly, I'm playing on Heroic. I think I'm on the last stage now, though, and the level I've just finished is definitely the most claustrophobic and mood altering.

Stand out moments for me are the Hornets against the Scarabs. That was excellent. In fact, the Scarabs are great fun - on an earlier level I even managed to jump a Warthog onto one!

I also really like the fact that you have to weapon switch as well - I'm sure I'm not alone in feeling attached to some weapons, but in this game you have to switch due to the fact that in some set-pieces, ammo is really scarce, but then you can get in and melee and it works quite effectively as long as you're not trying to take out about four Brutes at once and some weapons are better suited against some enemies and not others - but it just feels like it's been play tested to death to get that balance just right. Like Trousers says, the trial and error tactical aspects of the game make the combat feel very satisfying.

I'm a little lost with the story due to the dialogue in the cut-scenes frequently being inaudible due to the swelling orchestral score, so on the next run through when I'm looking for skulls (so far I've found none!) I will switch on subtitles (if there are any).

Didn't get as much chance to play online (Actually, I don't think I managed at all!) but on the one occasion I did attempt, I got booted from the lobby at game start (I think switching to Sky for an ISP may be a mistake, retrospectively) and when I did get back on, everybody had gone to bed... ah well, it was one of those weekends where I was doing a lot of RL stuff, so I'm kinda surprised I managed to get any play time.


WANT:

Not a lot right now - I'm kinda looking forward to a few things, but I suppose I'd like to play some more Halo online.
