PLAY
Stranglehold Demo (360) - This is excellent and the full game is absolute must for me. I hope you unlock a cheat for infinite Precision Aim after completing the full game. Best special power ever. There are a few niggles - taking cover only seems to work when it feels like it, for one - but it's all good fun.
Doom (360) - Just checking that this has stood the test of time, given it only made it to number 57 in rllmuk's top hundred games. It's brilliant, but it's very tough. Not sure what difficulty level my save game is on, but I'm getting my arse kicked.
Bioshock Demo (360) - I said I wasn't going to play this, but curiosity got the better of me. It's... a bit good. Love the setting and started to actually get in to the combat properly on my second playthrough. Need the full game now.
Singstar '90s (PS3) - One of our mics is broken, which is a pain. It's mostly fine, but then stops working until you play about with the cable for a bit. Not that it actually made much difference to my scores, as I can hardly ever hit the notes, anyway. I'm just such a bad singer. Much fun, though. I seem to be best at being Nick Cave and her out of The Cardigans.
Beautiful Katamari Demo (360) - Katamari again, in HD. Good enough. My wife's first taste of the series and after one play of the demo she demanded more and so spent hours yesterday playing We Love Katamari on the PS2. I hope her addiction fades a bit before Bioshock on Friday.
Fatal Inertia Demo (360) - Unlike the vast majority of other people, I had some fun with this. Not enough fun to make me want to buy the game, but it was a pleasant diversion for five minutes.
Track & Field (360) - Never thought I'd buy this, as I HATED these games in the eighties. But with the 360 controller on its side this seems to be quite playable, so I bought it.
WANT
Bioshock (360) - Hooray for Friday!
Stranglehold (360/PS3) - Heard something about the PS3 version coming with a Blu-Ray of Hard Boiled, but I'm not sure if that's here or in the US or anything. Must investigate. I think I might still prefer the 360 version, mind.
Beautiful Katamari (360) - I just can't get enough.
To find my PSP charger.
BIN
Marathon: Durandal Demo (360) - Ugly Doom clone with pages of boring text and rubbish controls. That's my five-minute assessment. I may go back and play for longer and see if anything clicks.
Ecco The Dolphin Demo (360) - Dull.
