Ridge Racer is probably the other one. The best thing you can do with a
PSP is still flash the OE firmware and play old PS games which is a bit
sad.
Curmudgeons. Just cos it's a Sony product...
I'm actually quite liking my PS3 at the moment amazingly.
Handy to keep the living room warm at the moment, eh?
Slightly unfortunately I've disliked Sony for so long that I never had a
PS1, so I don't have a nostalgic need to play PS1 games (and honestly I
don't really have the gametime spare either!).
Shame, Final Fantasy 7 is worth a play along with more portable-friendly
stuff like Puzzle Fighter and R-Type Delta.
I played FF7 on a PSX emulator, any cRPGer has to really. R-Type
(original) I finished in the arcades, took bags of 10p pieces, and I
don't usually play scrolling shooters any more. Puzzle Fighter I'll
look up.
Yes, it looks lovely but is very difficult to actually use. Modifying
the d-pad so that diagonals work helps a lot but is a bit scary and
you'll probably get some dust under the screen as it involves taking it
to bits. There is no hope for the analog thing however.
Thought not. I'll go hunt up the Dpad instructions, ta for mentioning
it.
If you're running the Dark Alex firmware, just download your homebrew
and stick it in the folder it mentions in the readme. That's all really.
Ah - I thought there was a bunch of stuff that wasn't being mentioned,
since there are all these homebrew loaders and whatnot. Point'n'drool
fodder, I suppose.
I wasn't aware that the 3.51 hacker friendly firmware was out though,
you didn't use the Sony one did you?
Gosh, no! Google "psp m33" and enjoy. You want the v6 release.
Dark Alex has retired/been shot down, and these M33 russians have
taken up the reigns.
Couple of questions:
There's a scattering of files from the initial downgrade to 1.50 in the
root, can I bin them? Just keeping MEMSTICK.IND, MP_ROOT, MSTK_PRO.IND and
PSP, I mean.
Yes, you can get rid of them.
Ta.
Is it correct that I can't see the content of the memory stick when it's
out of the PSP?
You should be able to see what's on it when you plug it into a card
reader then into your Mac.
Hmm. Instead of which, it says "No valid partitions" or some such.
Works fine in the PSP (which says it's MagicGate compatible, so it's
presumably not a fake) and from the Mac over the USB cable, so I
shan't worry.
Maybe my 39in1 card reader is shagged, I've only ever used it on
SD/MMC before.
Cheers - Jaimie
