Lian-Li PC-6070B case (the case itself is £100! But I've been told I have to have the same case as the rest of the office...)
430W CoolerMaster eXtreme Power PSU
Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 (2x2.4)
2x1GB Corsair TWIN2X2048-6400 RAM
320MB XFX 8800GTS
3 x 250GB Hitachi Deskstar 7K250 SATA HDD
Asus P5B Motherboard
22" Asus MW221U TFT LCD Monitor
3 HDDs means 3 OSs. With regards to my XP or Vista question I'm going to have both. I have XP Pro x64 and Vista Business OEMs lying around waiting to be used, and I'm going to put Ubuntu on the third drive. How easy is it to get a triple-boot system up and running? Would this cause any problems?
Personally I'd go a 4 disks and RAID 5 em. Or two big disks and use RAID 1. Then install the OSs to partitions.
Any particular reason why you want Deskstars? They weren't named deathstars for no reason or have things improved of late?
Because in recent years I've found them to be fine. I always used WDs back in the day but they seem to be getting steadily worse and whilst they used to be the pick of the bunch they now seem horribly overpriced and selling on name alone.
