Re: Planned Weekend Gaming

My glasses broke this morning. The only pair I've ever owned. After eight years and three months of faithful service, they've snapped in half. I shall mourn their loss. And, more to the point, try not to play games until I've got some new ones, or at least an eye patch to cover my really bad eye. I'm in the office now with one of those airline eye-patches across the side of my head, covering my left eye. I feel silly and it's uncomfortable, but it has calmed the headache that was threatening to split my head in two.

Would wandering the office saying "yarrr!" brighten things up?

Anyway, assuming I do get some gaming done, I'll be trying the demo of Catan and maybe buying the full game. Probably play some other recent Live Arcade loveliness. (I mean, really. What's happened to XBLA lately? Even the Centipede/Millipede double pack is completely excellent. What's going on?)

Am I missing something here, where's the demo for Catan? I looked for it the other night but there was no option to download a demo on the Catan page that I saw. I did try the Centipede/Millipede one, and if it were half the cost I'd probably go for it but it isn't.

Other than that, I might play some more TDU (which seemed rather jerky at times, I must say) and possibly download some XBLA stuff now I have a 360 I'm sort of happy-ish with. Planning on getting:

Geometry Wars
Marble Blast Ultra
Gyruss
Uno

Anything else really, really worth it? I'm also tempted to see just how fast I can get through Crackdown now I know what I'm doing, had a quick go on the second 360 and realised how easy it is to get a hit squad after you in the first 5 minutes giving access to decent weapons (that high power machine gun was a drop) and therefore total carnage :)
