Am looking to change our TV in the front room, and am having trouble
trying to find the ideal set.
It has to be 32" widscreen, but other than that I'm pretty open-minded
- I'd take a good CRT over a poor LCD, but I've never played/seen any
games on a decent LCD/Plasma so am looking for some guidance. Will
play a range of consoles mainly over RGB Scart and component, TV will
be through RGB Scart from Sky+, and the quality of picture for viewing
TV has to be good as this the main place we watch TV.
If I had to pick a 32" LCD it'd be the Toshiba 32WLT66, check out the forums on www.avforums.com for more detail about what's good and what's not.
Would be grateful for any recommendations/experiences.
I thought the Samsung WS32Z409TQX on Amazon (CRT but 'HD Ready' with
component inputs)looked good, but after seeing it in the flesh in
Currys it's not pretty and has some serious geometry issues (horizontal
lines have a definite curve) that mean it's a non-starter.
Geometry can usually be sorted by going into the service menus, so google on how easy it is to do on that set before dismissing it due to that. Certainly on my Panasonic I had to do some fiddling to get it just right, although I noticed last night that there's something I've missed even after 3 years!
