Does that mean all BR players will be recorders as standard? It took forever to get CD writers, and to a lesser extent DVD writers, to market (in any kind of serious way, not costing 10 times more than their playback-only counterparts). Just curious.

Rubbishy marketing speak only I'm afraid. Recordable BluRay/HD-DVD is a way off yet.
