Gah! I was just playing and yet again I reached 8.4 with three lives,
and yet again I failed to get past it.

I presume this is the same Zuma that has a million clones on every casual
gaming website around? If so, do you have to play it all the way through
from the beginning? I have Tumblebugs (one of the various clones by the
same company, I believe) and you can play levels in any order you wish; I
got past later levels by replaying the first four or five worlds and
stocking up on lives so I had around 15 or so and then did levels over and
over until I beat them, essentially.
