Tuning a mandolin. Christ, none of my other instruments are this finicky.

What do you play, apart from the mandolin?

You want a list? Pretty much anything other than woodwind or bowed strings.
Mostly guitar, bass and piano.

You are me but with drums and theremin thrown in :)

I can play a few basic beats on the drum kit; I've just never had the
opportunity to sit behind a kit for any serious amount of time to get the
hang of the "feel" of the thing. The coordination isn't the issue so much
as just having time to get feel for the kit.

If you can play some basic beats with some really basic fills and keep
in time whilst doing it, and do a few basic rudiments (RLRL and RRLL)
then the rest comes from practice, experimentation and intuition.

Playing bass guitar also helps to an extent, because you have to pay
attention to what the drummer is doing (particularly the kick drum rhythm
and the interplay between the kick and snare) so you can fit it with and
around that. And being generally musical (and thus having an innate sense of
rhythm and timing) can't hurt. As I say, I've never really had the chance to
sit down for a good long time behind a kit, but every time I have I've had
people ask me how long I've been playing for and they don't believe me when
I say "I think, in total now, slightly under 2 hours".
