I've not made a formal study of it or anything, but I've found that the short Welsh words are much harder to pronounce than the long ones. How the hell do you say "Fedw" and why does a word with only four letters have three syllables?

My two favourite welsh words are

sboncen (pronounced sbonken and it means squash, as in the game)

and

pump (pronounced 'pimp' and it means five)

oh, and creision tatws (pronounced crayshun tattoos and means potato crisps)
.
