while they're not cheap, I wouldn't say they were particularly poor
value. If you're someone who doesn't know what they're doing, it's worth
having an iPod for ease of use alone.
The iPod shuffle is a bit of a rip-off when you see what other
manufacturers give you for the same money though! I think iRivers are
generally more expensive than iPods, but do have significantly more
features!
For me, I just don't like the idea of having a hard drive bouncing
around in my pocket, they're the lest reliable component when sat inside
a PC, and I just don't trust their reliability. The 4GB nano is about
the highest capacity flash based player I know of. Of course, if it
weren't for the anticompetitive massive bulk buy discount on flash
memory that Samsung give Apple, other manufacturers could afford to make
a 4GB flash-based player, but they generally can't.
I still find the 4GB storage rather restrictive though :(
Fear my iPod video 30gb! Wonder at the storage space that i will never
use! Laugh when you find out how fast video wastes the battery!
Its nice having every Kevin Smith film on there for easy viewing but
goddamn does it thrash the battery down.
my mate got a ipod video for christmas, had a look at it the other
day, must admit my reaction was just "meh".
does the battery run down that quickly on it then?
