On the one hand you have your hollywood blockbusters, on the other
side, your indies.

Only the only the very biggest developers have the money to develop a
game that really makes use of Xbox 360's capabilities, and once the
big ones start making such games, the smaller ones won't be able to
compete.

Now that it seems pretty certain that revolution won't be all that powerful, it might level the playing field somewhat, since
development costs will be significantly lower. The big companies
could start giving token amounts of money to small developers to make
something out of a good idea. A sort of "20th Century EA" and "EA
Searchlight" type setup, where the money from the big blockbusters
can be used to fund smaller projects.

With the lower production costs, and the wealth of new possibilities presented by Nintendo, it could be the time for independant software houses to start making a name for themselves on small investment, big
ideas titles.

Maybe.

I like the idea of a simpler machine with only games in mind, and innovative games at that.

Get yourself a Major Morgan then, Luddite!*

Is that a sexual euphamism?

I agree with your agreement. .
