Xevious 3D/G+ (PS1) - a fairly average shooter, but just too hard.
Even on Easy with 5 lives and 2 continues (the most generous settings
possible without cheating, though there is a infinite-continues cheat)
I can barely get to level 4 out of 7. I think the main problem is that
the enemy shots usually move too fast relative to your ship, and the
shot-dodging is already a bit hard to judge properly because they went
for a "wow, look, it's 3D" camera angle for almost all of the game
rather than a more sensible strictly-overhead one.
The Need For Speed (Saturn) - the handling is rather weird and
sluggish, the tournament mode is crappy and tough, and out of the
seven tracks only two are any fun to drive. But playing those two
tracks in head-to-head mode (complete with non-racing traffic) isn't
too bad, it's a bit like a slow mid-90s take on Burnout. :-)
Outrun (DC Shenmue 2) - beat my previous best time by 8 seconds or
something mad. Not that the game itself bothers remembering such
things, at least not in the Shenmue Collection bit.

Beyond Good & Evil (GC). I really should have got it when Gameplay
were doing it for a tenner recently, but I left it a while due to
buying various other bits and it looks like I missed out. Bah.
Spider-Man 2 (GC) - might be worth a look just for the web-slinging,
though I gather the rest of the game tends to suck.

Shoot-em-ups with an "Easy" setting which isn't, and a permanently
limited, low number of continues. I don't mind having to "earn"
continues so I don't just fly through the game in seconds, but Xevious
3D/G forcing you to use a cheat to get more than TWO continues is just
silly.
Jinx (PS1) - clearly wants to be Spyro but fails utterly. The camera
seems to be on loan from Sonic Team, the control is horrible with a
walk-slowly-turns-to-run-but-you-stop-instantly pseudo-inertia even if
you use the analogue stick, standing near platform edges slowly forces
you off them, collision detection in general seems questionable
especially for combat, there are several avoid-falling-to-your-death
jumps on *the first level*, and if you run out of lives it's
game-over-reload-the-last-save which I find hugely irritating in a
slow-paced platformer like this (I think Pac-Man World did the same
thing, but somehow it's far more annoying here). And on top of all
that it's unbelievably boring, with tedious "puzzles" everywhere. I'm
a bit of a platform nut but even I wasn't masochistic enough to bother
with more than a few levels of this.
Sega Rally (Saturn) not saving any ghost/replay for the championship
mode (just for time trials), even if you have a memory cart available.
Bit of a pain, as that's one reason why I bought the cart... a stupid
reason, but a reason all the same. :-)
