Yes, Wanadoo were Freeserve - and they were great. Never had a single
problem in years. It's a shame, as in this ISP 'war', it could be another
front to fight on. They could advertise as it being a strong point of
theirs. Are we who use newsgroups a minority I wonder? It would seem so, as
like you say, they don't appear to give a flying shag. :'(


a very small minority, yes. usenet has been around for years and
years, and doesnt really fit in with the flashy "look how fast and
pretty the interweb is, joe public" service they like to advertise.

the only people who really use it, are people who have used it for
ages and ages. i mean, how many new users do you see subscribing to
these groups? it's miniscule compared to the number of people who sign
up for html message boards.
