Mario Smash Football (Super Mario Strikers, NTSC)

I've seen two reviews, one from an American site saying it's a pile of
***...58/100 (I simply will not, cannot bring myself to trust the opinions
of an American when it comes to football though. Baseball yes, American
football yes, Basketball yes, "soccer" NO!), and Eurogamer's review that
says it's great fun (8/10). Two wildly conflicting opinions.

I really wouldn't mind getting the hands-on opinions of some Brits on this,
me and my mate saw the advert last night and envisaged Friday night battles
like we used to have on Mario Tennis and Golf etc. I never even knew it was
in production TBH. Has anyone here got it? What's it like?? :\

[If it is as much Tennis as Mario Tennis is to a Tennis sim, or same with
Golf...then that's fine.....as I like the idea of an as far from Pro Evo as
possible, rules out the window..FUN game. But I really would appreciate some
opinions before I order it. Cheers.]
