Well, generally speaking, with the obvious exception of things like Final Fantasy, turn based RPG's are neither stocked or sold in large quantities, and the sort of person that play them tends to hang on to them, so the secondhand market for them is quiet too.

All of which tends to make them a bit scarce and quite pricey. As a result, I tend to buy most of them when they come out, so that a) I don't find myself in a position where I cannot find one to buy or b) I don't have to pay a fortune for one on e-bay.
