Game Boy Battle Wars 2 - help required

Hello all - looking for some help here..

A friend's kid has GameBoy Battle Wars 2 - he has saved game at an advanced
level and is unable to return to a previous level and progress again. Any
suggestions?

Any info greatly appreciated....
